Who we are

The European University Institute (EUI) at a glance:

The EUI Florence School of Transnational Governance (STG) trains tomorrows leaders on the concepts,

methods and practices of governance beyond the state. It offers policy leader fellowships, executive training

and high-level policy dialogues. The School launched a new Master’s programme in transnational governance

in 2020.

Employment details

Contract type Full-time (30/30, 40 hours/week)

Length of contract 12 months, start date: 1 September 2024

This contract may be further renewed (several times and conditional to the
availability of funds), leading to an extension of the period of service up to a total of
5 years, including the first contract period.

Salary indication and Grade: ASTAC1e step 1
grade

The basic net monthly salary after taxes is approximately 2,230 Euro, plus
allowances if applicable.

About the project

Project Directors STG Director Georgios Papakonstantinou and Prof. Jos Delbeke

Project details STG Climate is a European and global hub of excellence in knowledge-exchange,

research and education on climate change policies and governance. Its experts
offer top-tier research, teaching and training on a wide range of climate-related
issues.

Job description The Research Assistants will provide research assistance to the Directors of the
project.

Main tasks include:

• Conducting research on carbon pricing and voluntary carbon markets;
• Producing policy relevant publications, such as policy briefs;

• Contributing to the organisation of high-level policy dialogues;

• Contributing to the design and delivery of teaching and training.

Qualifications and experience

Qualifications and Essential:
Experience

• Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Environmental Sciences or other relevant

field;

• Proven knowledge of carbon pricing and voluntary carbon markets.

Desirable:

• Demonstrated track record of research on voluntary carbon markets and

Languages Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written (CEFR level: C1 or
above). Knowledge of other languages constitutes an advantage.
